Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to visit Hilton Head & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Hilton Head. Reserve your Hilton Head rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick yourrental:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Updated Offshore Breeze retreat with outdoor pool and lagoon view has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
