Tips for getting the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
