Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sea Pines Home w/ Private Pool, Family-Friendly Spaces - Near Beach & Golf has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
