Finding the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your family choose dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Private Oceanfront Home with Private Pool and Spa and Many Updates! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
