Our top Rental home tips:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Hilton Head. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Hilton Head vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Private Oceanfront Home with Private Pool and Spa and Many Updates! has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
