Hilton Head rental booking tips:

When to book a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, shift your family's Hilton Head vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the best Hilton Head rental:

  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Palatial Home Just a Short Walk to the Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
