Our top Hilton Head rental property booking tips:

When to go & When to book:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Palatial Home Just a Short Walk to the Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
