Booking the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your Hilton Head vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing a perfectrental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Modern coastal villa with balcony, ocean views & shared pool - stroll to beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head destination you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
