Tricks and tips to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the best Hilton Head vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 4 BR Home, Private Pool, and Spa on Tranquil Lagoon has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
