Rental home tips:

Sticking to your budget:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Luxury Four Bedroom Home Third Row From the Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
