Our top Rental home booking tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is high season in Hilton Head. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the best rental home in the Hilton Head area:

  • To start, have your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Two Bedroom First Floor Single-Level Villa with Pond and Golf Course Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
