Getting the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Hilton Head. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental home:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • St. Andrews 1772 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Hilton Head attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
