Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • To find the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the best vacation home in the Hilton Head area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Condo Steps from Ocean with WiFi, Partial Beach Views, Heated Pool\/Gas Grills has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head attraction you are enamored with, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
