Hilton Head vacation rental tips and tricks:
Find your best deal:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Hilton Head rental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Welcome to Eleventh Heaven! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head destination you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
