Rental home booking tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • To find the best value, try changing your family's Hilton Head trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best rental home in Hilton Head:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Sunset Rentals
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head destination you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
