Finding the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best vacation rental in the Hilton Head area:

  • Start by having your group agree to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sea Pines Home w\/ Private Pool, Family-Friendly Spaces - Near Beach & Golf has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
