Getting the best Hilton Head rental experience:
When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Hilton Head rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Large Six Bedroom Custom-Built Home with Private Pool! has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head beach you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
