How to book the best rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:
- Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Hilton Head vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself.
