Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental home in the Hilton Head area:

  • Start by having your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Updated Fourth Floor Condo w\/Ocean Views, Shared Hot Tub, Pool, Sauna has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
