Tricks and tips for getting the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Reserve your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the rightvacation home:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Updated Hilton Head Island Vacation Rental! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
