Tips to get the optimal Hilton Head vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. Booking your Hilton Head vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, selecting, and booking yourvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a budget.
  • Fazio 4 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
