Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

When to visit & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Quiet Hilton Head Getaway with WiFi, Pool, Hot Tub, & Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
