Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Hilton Head rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Hilton Head area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Spacious Villa with Shared Pool, Hot tub & Lagoon Views - Walk to Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
