Strategies to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Hilton Head vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Relaxing villa with pool, hot tub & tennis - partial ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
