  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. Book your Hilton Head rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Finding the perfect vacation rental:

  • To start, have your family agree to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Private pool - space for the whole family 4 bedrooms! 7 Port Au Prince has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.

  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
