Tips and Tricks to get the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. Book your Hilton Head rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Start by having your group choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Dog-friendly ocean view oasis with pool, epic views, & 3-tier outdoor living has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
