How to find the best vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Finding the perfect vacation home in Hilton Head:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. New to the Rental Market! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Hilton Head beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
