Booking the best rental experience:
When to reserve a Hilton Head rental & When to go:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book a perfect Hilton Head rental:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Hilton Head villa conveniently located just a short walk to the beach. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your trip.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
During your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
