Finding the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Hilton Head villa conveniently located just a short walk to the beach. has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
