Booking the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the right Hilton Head rental:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 1665 St. Andrews Commons Great Family Layout! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head beach you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
