Rental property booking tips:

When to reserve a Hilton Head rental & When to go:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in the Hilton Head area. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Bright and cheery villa! Close to everything that resort has to offer! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
