Our top Rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summertime is high season in Hilton Head. Reserve your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book your prefect Hilton Head vacation home:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Completely updated Hilton Head villa! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.

  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
