Hilton Head rental home booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the best value, change your family's Hilton Head vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2 bedroom 2 bath townhouse overlooks the George Fazio golf course! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
