Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. This villa is perfect for either a friends or family getaway! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
