Finding the best vacation property experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Hilton Head. Reserve your Hilton Head vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Gorgeous condo close to beach with golf views and swimming pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
