Tips for getting the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Hilton Head area. Book your Hilton Head rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Tennis view condo at Port Royal with pools, hot tub, private W\/D, & beach access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
