Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sea Pines Treehouse steps to Harbour Town on Deer Island has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
