Rental booking tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Hilton Head trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book your prefect Hilton Head rental:

  • Start by having your family commit to trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Stunning Hilton Head Island Vacation Rental! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
