Getting the best vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Enjoy pool, golf, & tennis
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

During your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
