How to book the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Dog Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
