Hilton Head vacation rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Hilton Head. To book the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in Hilton Head:

  • Start by having your group choose trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Beautiful Oceanfront Home with Large Private Pool! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
