Hilton Head vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose the perfect Hilton Head vacation home:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 412 Shorewood Villas- Oceanfront Villa, Zero Entry Pool & Spa! $1000 in Free Activities Included has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
