Strategies for getting the perfect Hilton Head rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Hilton Head restaurants and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book your prefectrental home:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Magnificent Two Bedroom Villa Perfect for Families and Groups Alike! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
