Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. Reserve your Hilton Head rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • First, have your group commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Large Three Bedroom Townhome Close to the Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
