How to find the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Hilton Head rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and pick your prefectvacation home:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Heartwarming home with firepit, gas grill, deck, patio, kitchen, & washer\/dryer has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
