Hilton Head vacation rental booking tips:
When to visit Hilton Head & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer is high season in Hilton Head. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book yourvacation home:
- To start, have your family decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. George Fazio Golf Course Views with Updated Bathrooms! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
