At the heart of Palmetto Dunes is Shelter Cove Marina, a signature waterfront neighborhood that hosts some of the best island cuisine, stores, art galleries, kids' events, and even a weekly (seasonal) waterfront fireworks display. For walking paths, boat tours, and a unique archaeological site, don't miss the Sea Pines Forest Preserve, just a little over five miles from your front door.

  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.

  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
