How to find the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to select the best vacation rental in Hilton Head:

  • To start, have your group select dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Unique Treehouse Haven with Marsh-Front Views & Large Deck - Walk to Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
