Hilton Head vacation rental tips and tricks:

Getting the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Hilton Head vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best rental home in the Hilton Head area:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Dog Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
