Hilton Head vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Booking your Hilton Head vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful Three Bedroom Villa with Many Updates! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
