Strategies to get the very best Hilton Head rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your Hilton Head vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful Home with Private Pool and Many Updates! has 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
