Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Hilton Head rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Hilton Head restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Beautiful Home with Private Pool and Many Updates! has 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
