The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furnishings, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out.   • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses.   • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
