Hilton Head rental property booking tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Large Golf Course Villa with Lots of Space for Everyone! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Hilton Head attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
