Tips and Tricks to get the best Hilton Head rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to select the perfect vacation rental:

  • To start, have your group choose trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautifully decorated Ocean Oriented Villa! Tennis! Close to Coligny! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
